To the future owners of 6453 McCormick Lane,
Old Iron Estates was the perfect spot for us when we were relocating from NJ. Logistically, it was located between Mark's two offices. I love the location from downtown Harrisburg and Hershey. We get lots of company who come to visit the park and/or concerts. OIE is a newer development. The streets are lined with pear trees, which when in bloom, are breathtaking. It is comprised of families, working couples, as well as retirees. It offers a nice mix of various demographics.
What we love most about our house on the "Lane" is the kitchen with all the windows. They provide the most artistic backdrop, changing every season. Our favorite is Spring, when the cherry blossoms are in bloom throughout the backyard and driveway. It feels like you're in heaven. It's so magical.
What we love most about this area is the convenience to downtown Harrisburg, Hershey, and highways. Harrisburg is full of great restaurants. Downtown we love Rubican, Suba, Mangi Qui, El Sol - just to name a few. Locally, Gabriella's is a great spot for Italian. But on a Friday night, Ted's on Jonestown is the place for a burger and good local conversation.
The Giant on Jonestown Road is our favorite grocery store. They have everything. And if they don't, just ask and they'll order it. When I was trying to prepare a special Easter dinner, the butcher special order the meat I needed for the recipe. It was delicious! The restaurant options are endless.
Our capital building is one of the most beautiful capitals, especially when lit up at night. City Island is a wonderful family and sport venue. The Susquehanna River is our absolute favorite location, though. The bridges and walking path make for a very picturesque scenic photo. This area provides all of the comfort and space you need, while remaining in closet proximity to all of the local amenities. You will love making this your new home.
