To the future owners of 4041 Greystone Drive,
We've owned this home for 11 years. We lived on 2nd Street in Harrisburg in a home that we remodeled with 6 bedrooms and 4 baths -- then we downsized to this beautiful Stonegate Condo Community. Quiet, peaceful, and in a very accessible, yet private location with woods and mountain views. We were new to condo living and have enjoyed the freedom and leisure that lack of responsibility for building, lawn and snow maintenance have brought. We also are grateful for the spaciousness of our home (3 bedrooms with a bonus room that could be a 4th) with the Master Suite on the 1st floor. We also have grown fond of our neighbors and friends ... a great community with many fine people. Neighbors in this condo are always ready to assist each other when and if there is a need. We wouldn't be selling, because we really love this home, but we have come to the next phase of our life - retirement, and are moving to a very nice retirement community that will provide us care for the remainder of our lives when and if we need it.
We have added much value to our home over the past 11 years. With a very private back yard overlooking woods and the mountain, we have added a four season sun room, which has become our main living space all year round. Heated and air conditioned, we watch the snow fall in this cozy room during the winter, and the flowers and birds during the spring, summer and fall. We've added a small fish pond and gardens and plants and exterior lighting to enjoy the exterior from the sun room at night. We have a spacious living room and have added a gas fire place. We entertain a lot, and have held gatherings with over 50 people comfortably, although the home is not too large to manage. The first floor Master Suite is large and comfortable. Upstairs, we have 2 good sized bedrooms and a full bath. We also have a bonus room which we use as an office with a gym (rowing machine, stationary bike, treadmill, weight bench) ... gives you an idea of the size of the room. Storage aplenty is available throughout, but the 2 car oversized garage has cabinets on three walls, with an attic which we use for storage as well. When you are in our home, you don't have direct views of the neighbors homes, it's hard to imagine this is a condo. And we have never heard a sound from the adjoining home ... the connecting/dividing wall is cinder block!
Living in the Linglestown/Forest Hills neighborhood, we have quick access to Giant (our go-to grocery store) and Weis (our 'quick pick up' store.) In Harrisburg, our favorite restaurant is Café Fresco. Tomato Pie Café is our favorite breakfast spot. Simply Turkey is our favorite lunch spot. And the Dunkin Donuts within a mile of our home has the best Cold Brew Iced Coffee around. A short and easy drive to Hershey brings us to a long time favorite restaurant, What If.
We enjoy the proximity that the Harrisburg area has to large metropolitan cities (Baltimore, Washington DC, Philadelphia, NYC) as well as the proximity to more rural areas, within Dauphin County and other counties near by. We also enjoy the weather, milder than our native New England (Vermont/Massachusetts.) And we very much enjoy the opportunities of fine arts (Harrisburg Symphony), local theater, restaurants and sports events (Hershey Bears, Harrisburg Senators, etc.) We also love the Friendship Center pool and gym, Lower Paxton's recreation center.
We have truly enjoyed our time here, and we are certain that you will too!
