To the future owners of 244 Hunter Lane,
My husband and I decided to purchase this home because we hoped to fill it with a family of our own. Even before we had three children we envisioned one in each bedroom. We wanted to offer our children some land to play and explore and the potential for pets. Over the years, our children have raised and fostered many animals here. Our family has enjoyed our open air pavilion for many birthday parties and various gatherings. My husband loves fishing in our backyard creek. Some of my favorite pastimes are lazy evenings watching the fireflies dance from the patio. We have always enjoyed having a home and land large enough that even our extended family knew our door was always open. Our family values and love of this land drew us to this home.
The exterior of the home is very unique. There is always a big reaction of curiosity when I tell people I live in a geodesic dome home. The structure, being cedar shingles, blends into the wooded setting and looks almost natural. Visitors always know they arrived at the right place when you tell them to look for the dome. The big open central room is almost overwhelming. Our children never had the excuse of being "pent up" on a rainy day. We could play Nerf volleyball and badminton!
We had three children in the Lower Dauphin school district. I believe it is one of the best school districts available. My children are attending school in California now and they are doing very well and testing very high for grade standard. My middle child needed reading intervention in grammar school. Her learning gaps were quickly addressed and remedied. In fact, her reading specialist was so wonderful that we have remained close friends with her to this day. Even as my children advanced through the school system they still enjoyed visiting with all of their subsequent teachers. The children have had the opportunity to get involved in many organizations and play club sports.
This home is close to many area attractions and restaurants. We will miss the Hershey Pantry restaurant. There is almost always a wait, but it is ALWAYS worth it; save room for dessert! There is a great farmers market within five minutes. Fabios Italian restaurant is a family favorite. Fabios has great affordable food and a pleasant atmosphere. It is nice to be close to several large hotels and makes accommodations convenient for visitors. We also really enjoyed the accessibility of the outdoors in this area. There are so many nearby parks, picnic areas, and bike or running paths. And of course, it has been great for my husband to be so close to Fort Indiantown Gap.
We have made many memories in this home, and we are certain that you will too!
